How to configure mod_evasive on Ubuntu?

1. Log in to your server via SSH as user root.

2. Before starting, it is recommended to update your system with the latest stable version with the following command:

apt-get update -y apt-get upgrade -y

~~~

3. Install mod_evasive with the following command:

apt-get install libapache2-mod-evasive

~~~

4. Once mod_evasive is installed, you can verify it with the following command:

~~~

apachectl -M | grep evasive

~~~

5. If everything is ok, you should see the following output:

~~~

evasive20_module (shared)

~~~
